Smile, speak, and eat with confidence again
Today's dentures are a different category from what your grandparents wore. We design every full or partial around your face shape, lip support, and esthetic goals, and refine the fit over multiple visits until it feels natural. Most patients adapt within a few weeks.
Partial dentures for replacing some teeth
If you still have most of your natural teeth, a partial denture replaces just the missing ones, often with a flexible nylon framework that's nearly invisible. Partials are less expensive than bridges or implants and can be a great interim solution while you plan for a more permanent restoration.
Implant-supported options for stability
If you've had traditional dentures and they've felt loose or uncomfortable, ask about implant-retained dentures. Two to four implants can dramatically improve chewing and speaking comfort, the denture either snaps onto the implants and is removable, or is permanently fixed in place.
Denture options at Cusp Dental
We fit four main denture types based on what you need. Complete (full) dentures replace all teeth in one arch, upper, lower, or both. Partial dentures fill in gaps when some natural teeth remain, anchored to those teeth with clasps. Implant-supported overdentures snap onto 2–4 implants per arch for dramatically better stability and chewing, most former full-denture patients who try implant-retained options never go back. Immediate dentures are placed the same day as extractions so you're never without teeth.
The right denture depends on your remaining teeth, your budget, and your priorities. Dr. Sidhu walks through each at the consultation with photos and physical samples so you can see and feel the difference.
Adjusting to new dentures
The first month with new dentures is an adjustment period, and patients who know this in advance do dramatically better. Speech may feel different for the first 1–2 weeks; reading aloud at home speeds adaptation. Eating starts with softer foods cut small, then gradually broadens. Sore spots are common in the first weeks; we adjust the denture at quick followup visits at no charge.
By week six, most patients describe the denture as feeling like part of their mouth. By month three, it's invisible to them. The investment in those early adjustment weeks pays off for years.
What to expect, step by step
Here's exactly what happens at a dentures & partials appointment at Cusp Dental, from the moment you walk in to the followup.
-
Consultation and treatment plan
Dr. Sidhu evaluates your current dental situation, remaining teeth, gum health, bite, and walks through denture options. We discuss timing, cost, and what each option looks and feels like.
-
Impressions and bite registration
Custom impressions capture the contour of your gums and remaining teeth. A bite registration ensures the denture fits correctly with your opposite arch.
-
Try-in appointment
Before the final denture is made, a wax try-in lets you see and approve the tooth shape, shade, and overall smile design. Adjustments are made before fabrication.
-
Delivery and fitting
The finished denture is fitted and adjusted. We check for pressure points, sore spots, and bite balance. Most patients leave with a comfortable starting point and 2–3 followup tweaks over the next month.
-
Adjustments and maintenance
Bones and gums continue to change shape after extraction, so dentures need periodic relines (every 2–5 years) and eventual replacement (every 7–10 years). We track this at each cleaning.
Pricing & insurance
We don't post per-service pricing here because every case is different. Call us at (916) 451-4856 for a personalized estimate. We verify your insurance benefits at no charge and give you a written all-in estimate before any treatment begins.
- Insurance
- PPO plans typically cover dentures at 50% as major restorative work, often subject to a frequency limit (one every 5 years). We submit pre-authorization for every case.
- Financing
- CareCredit financing available. For patients with multiple-stage cases (extractions + healing + dentures), we structure billing across phases.
Premium denture options with higher-quality teeth and gum aesthetics are available at a higher price point. Immediate dentures (placed the same day as extractions) usually require a reline at 6 months as bone settles, billed separately. Call us for a personalized quote.
Common questions about dentures & partials
How long do dentures last?
Full and partial dentures typically last 5–10 years before needing replacement, though they may need relines (re-fitting the inside surface) after 1–2 years as your gums and jaw remodel.
Can I eat normally with dentures?
Most foods, yes, though there's a learning curve in the first few weeks. Implant-supported dentures dramatically improve chewing for harder foods like steak, apples, and corn on the cob.
How long does it take to get used to them?
Most patients adjust within 2–4 weeks. Speech feels strange at first; reading aloud at home accelerates adaptation. We schedule follow-up visits to refine the fit during this period.
