Choosing a new dental home is one of those decisions that quietly shapes years of your life. We don't take it lightly, and we're grateful you're considering us. This page covers everything you'll want to know before your first visit: what happens during the appointment, what to bring, the technology we use, and how payment and insurance work.
What to expect at your first visit
Your first appointment focuses on understanding your oral health and getting to know your goals. Plan on 60–75 minutes, we don't rush new-patient visits, and we work at your pace.
-
Welcome and health-history review
Your visit starts with a relaxed conversation, what's brought you in, any concerns or anxieties, your medical history, and any medications you take. We work from a complete picture so recommendations are tailored to you.
-
Digital X-rays (if needed)
We take digital bitewing X-rays (90% less radiation than older film versions) only when clinically necessary. A panoramic view is taken for new patients to establish a baseline of all teeth, supporting bone, and joint position.
-
Comprehensive exam with Dr. Sidhu
Dr. Sidhu performs a careful exam, periodontal pocket measurements, tooth-by-tooth condition check, oral-cancer screening, and bite/TMJ evaluation. We share what we see on a chair-side monitor so you can follow along.
-
Gentle cleaning if appropriate
If your gums are healthy enough, our hygienist completes a thorough cleaning during the same visit. If significant tartar buildup or gum disease is found, we schedule a deep cleaning separately so we can spend the appropriate time on it.
-
Treatment-plan conversation
We walk through what we found, what to do now, what to monitor, and what can wait. You get a written estimate with insurance coverage and your share clearly itemized before anything is scheduled.
What to bring to your appointment
To help us check you in quickly and accurately, please bring the following on the day of your visit:
- A valid photo ID
- Your dental insurance card or policy info (if applicable)
- A list of current medications and any relevant medical history
- Records or X-rays from a previous dental practice (optional but helpful)
- A comfort item if you're anxious, headphones, a stress ball, anything that helps
Save time with online patient forms
We email new-patient forms before your appointment so you can complete them from home, no clipboards, no waiting-room scribbling. The forms cover medical history, medications, and a quick consent overview. If you'd rather handle them in person, we can have hard copies ready when you arrive.
Our technology & comfort amenities
We invest in modern dental technology because it makes appointments faster, more comfortable, and more accurate. A few of the tools you'll encounter at every visit:
Digital X-rays
90% less radiation than the film X-rays you may remember. Images appear on-screen within seconds, so we review findings together at the chair.
Intraoral cameras
A pen-sized camera lets us show you exactly what we see inside your mouth, early decay, cracks, gum changes, on a chair-side screen.
Mess-free digital impressions
Our intraoral 3D scanner replaces the gooey impression trays of old. A few minutes of wand-scanning captures your bite in full color.
Comfortable, modern suites
Reclined chairs with neck support, natural light, blankets if you're cold, and chair-side monitors. Designed to feel nothing like a clinic.
